1. Project Overview

Buck Electrical was engaged by M&C Jones to provide labour-only electrical installation services for the full refurbishment of the Nando’s restaurant at the Bullring in Birmingham.

The project involved the installation and alteration of electrical systems throughout the restaurant, including new electrical wiring, power supplies, kitchen electrical supplies, new light fittings, lighting circuits and data cabling.

Buck Electrical provided skilled electrical labour to complete the installation works in accordance with the project requirements and under the direction and coordination of M&C Jones.

2. Electrical Installation Works

Buck Electrical's electrical operatives completed the electrical installation works associated with the restaurant refurbishment.

The completed works included:

• Installation of new electrical wiring and cabling.
• Installation of new power circuits.
• Installation of new socket outlets.
• Installation of power supplies to fixed equipment.
• Installation of dedicated power supplies to kitchen equipment.
• Installation of power supplies throughout front-of-house and back-of-house areas.
• Installation of electrical containment and cable management.
• Labelling and identification of electrical circuits.
• Testing of completed electrical circuits.

3. Kitchen Electrical Installation

Buck Electrical provided the labour required to install the new electrical supplies associated with the refurbished Nando’s commercial kitchen.

The completed works included:

• Installation of dedicated supplies to kitchen equipment.
• Installation of socket outlets and connection points.
• Installation of supplies to cooking equipment.
• Installation of supplies to refrigeration equipment.
• Installation of supplies to food preparation equipment.
• Electrical connections to fixed kitchen appliances.
• Installation of associated wiring and containment.
• Testing of completed kitchen electrical circuits.

The electrical installation was coordinated with the kitchen layout and equipment positions provided for the project.

4. Lighting Installation

Buck Electrical provided the labour for the installation of the new lighting system throughout the refurbished Nando’s restaurant.

The completed works included:

• Installation of new light fittings.
• Installation of new lighting wiring.
• Installation of new lighting circuits.
• Installation of lighting to customer dining areas.
• Installation of lighting to service areas.
• Installation of lighting to kitchen areas.
• Installation of lighting to back-of-house areas.
• Installation of lighting switches and controls.
• Installation of associated cabling and containment.
• Testing and commissioning of the completed lighting installation.

The new lighting installation was coordinated with the refurbished restaurant layout and interior finishes.

5. Data Installation

Buck Electrical also provided labour for the installation of the new data infrastructure throughout the restaurant.

The completed works included:

• Installation of new data cabling.
• Installation of data outlets.
• Installation of data points for point-of-sale systems.
• Installation of data points to office and back-of-house areas.
• Installation of data points for network equipment.
• Installation of data points for Wi-Fi access points.
• Routing and securing of data cabling.
• Labelling of data outlets.
• Testing of installed data cabling.

6. Project Coordination

Buck Electrical worked under the direction and coordination of M&C Jones throughout the Bullring refurbishment project.

The electrical installation works were coordinated with the wider refurbishment programme and other trades working on the project.

Buck Electrical's operatives worked alongside the kitchen installation, ceiling, flooring, furniture and interior fit-out teams to complete the electrical works in accordance with the project requirements.

Particular attention was given to maintaining a neat and professional finish throughout the customer-facing and operational areas of the restaurant.

7. Labour-Only Contract Arrangement

The works undertaken by Buck Electrical were completed on a labour-only basis on behalf of M&C Jones.

Buck Electrical's responsibility was to provide suitably skilled and competent electrical labour to carry out the installation works instructed as part of the refurbishment.

M&C Jones retained responsibility for the overall project management and coordination, including the provision and procurement of project materials and equipment in accordance with the agreed contract arrangements.

Buck Electrical completed the instructed electrical installation works using the materials, equipment and project information provided for the works.

8. Testing and Completion

Upon completion of the installation works, the electrical systems installed by Buck Electrical were inspected and tested as part of the project completion process.

The completed power circuits, lighting circuits, new wiring and kitchen electrical supplies were tested.

The installed data cabling was also tested to confirm the completed installation.

All electrical labour works instructed to Buck Electrical as part of the project were completed prior to handover.

9. Completion Statement

Buck Electrical successfully completed the labour-only electrical installation works for the full refurbishment of Nando’s Bullring, working on behalf of M&C Jones.

The completed electrical works included new wiring, power circuits, kitchen electrical supplies, new light fittings, lighting circuits and data cabling throughout the restaurant.

The works were carried out by Buck Electrical's electrical operatives in accordance with the project requirements and under the coordination of M&C Jones.
