Project Overview: We recently completed an electrical installation for a garage conversion, designed to accommodate the client’s immediate needs while providing flexibility for future upgrades. The installation included a new fuseboard, power sockets, LED lighting, and provisions for underfloor heating.
Scope of Work:
- Fuseboard: Installation of a new 6-way fuseboard to manage the electrical circuits for sockets, lighting, and underfloor heating. We also included spare ways for future expansion, as the client is considering a solar installation.
- Sockets & Lighting: Installation of 4 twin sockets and 4 x 4ft LED batons to ensure adequate power and illumination throughout the converted garage.
- Underfloor Heating: Provision of a dedicated supply for underfloor heating, enhancing comfort in the converted space.
- Surface-Mounted Option: To meet the client’s preferences, we opted for surface-mounted fittings in the garage, offering easy access for future maintenance or upgrades.
- SWC Cable: We ran a new SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) cable from the main property to the garage, ensuring a secure and reliable connection for the new electrical systems.
Outcome: The garage conversion is now fully equipped with safe, efficient, and expandable electrical infrastructure. By incorporating spare fuseboard ways, we’ve helped the client future-proof their space, ready for potential solar power integration. This project reflects our commitment to delivering adaptable and forward-thinking electrical solutions.
